Keep in mind that at this time of the year, refineries are currently shifting production emphasis from gasoline to fuel oil/kerosene. That could also affect gasoline prices, even though driving generally decreases somewhat during fall and winter.
To channel Kissinger, perception is almost as important as reality.

I've read somewhere that traps are a better alternative for survival than hunting, if you know how to do it.
This place is carpeted in rabbits and hares Erik. Our cats light them up but aren't making any kind of dent in the population. They do bring back the leftovers for us, but I can't imagine being so hungry that I'm going to eat rabbit ears and feet
Spain in general had a collapse in the rabbit population a few decades ago due to viral hemorragic disease, hunters took to creating artificial warrens for them. Not like that where we are, dunno why ? it might explain why we have the vanishingly rare Iberian Lynx in our area.
It's quite comical watching a tiny ex-feral kitten dragging a rabbit twice their size home and growling when you approach them

Gas is a fungible global product - disrupt the supply in the middle east, and their former buyers will start buying(or attempting to buy) from other sources, including ours. It will drive out prices up.

If you are going to buy gasoline to store for more than a couple of months, DO NOT forget the Sta-Bil; it is your friend.
My lady barber's husband is a mechanic. During the week of Hurricane Isaak, he repaired over 20 portable generators. All but 3 were fuel/carburetor problems. One person told him that they had not run their generator since Gustav(Sept 1, 2008).
Also, try to find non-ethanol gasoline. It stores longer when Sta-Biled, easily over a year. Ethanol-ed gasoline will store about 6 months or so when Sta-Biled.
Temperature is a factor, too. Gasoline stored underground keeps longer, as long as moisture is kept out.
Diesel: Use biocide. This is important. There are bugs that grow in diesel fuel, and they will plug your fuel filters. This is something of a problem in the oil & gas industry.

If you can find it, PRI-G is probably better. Sta-bil is everywhere, but PRI-G is supposed to improve the performance in general as well as making the fuel last longer. Supposedly you can add a second dose of it at the year mark and get another year out of stored fuel. It's also more heavily concentrated, so it goes farther than Sta-bil.

Check Pure-gas.org for stations that sell ethanol free gas. Some states don't have any stations that sell it, in that case your best bet is to buy marine gas - ask to make sure there's no "E" in it. And yes, you'll pay more for the privilege.
