I see your screwdriver and raise you a can of starting fluid. OOOOOps, almost forgot the lighter. :twisted:

How about I introduce you to one of several 20 lb. propance cylinders that I have been using as targets for the last couple or four years? :ugeek:

No?? How about a few rounds with my dirt bike helmet? :geek:

No? I have several other choices....you pick: liquids, metal, or wood. :lol: I was taught to be a considerate host even if my guest is a little unruley. ;)

* pick axe handle
* hand axe
* 18" monkey wrench
* 18" Crescent wrench
* several lengths of conduit
* several chunks of 2x4
* chain saw
* crowbar
* double bit axe
* mapp torch
* machete
* khukuri
* baseball bat
* hockey stick
* canister of ant poison (yes, I'll fight dirty)
* assorted Yugo/Combloc surplus bayonets

Hate to have to clue you in on this but inside of 7 yards, a knife/ sword/ shank can beat your gun. This is not opinion but verifiable fact. It becomes a matter of initiative and willingness to get hurt.

If I just stand there with my feet planted, and try to out draw him, sure. Otherwise, maybe yes, maybe no. Outside of 7 yards, he is my bitch.

I don't know how big your garage is, but mine's 21.5' x 22'.....

Wish it were 24'x24'. The extra foot or so would be nice, seeing how my wife's current vehicle is a Expedition...... :roll:

Then go the whole hog and use Ballistol. The smell of rancid cheese grows on one after a while :?
My wife is the same way, with the solvents. But I like Hoppe's, so that's what I use.

I'll just have to take your word for it wrt the cheese. :lol:

Sorry, that was a general statement on the utility of edged weapons in the world of firearms, I wasn't specifically thinking about using a sword in a garage. I wouldn't really want to use one in my garage since there would usually be no room to swing it. You might as well have a spear if your guns aren't an option. In my garage, I have multiple defensive options available to me, to include getting medieval, but that's neither my first more my fastest choice.

Not saying you can't do it, I shot today w. some folks who certainly can, but a reliable hit on a running assailant in the CNS, provided the run starts more than 21' away is impressive.

If you are referring to a hit in the heart, etc, humans can work a fair amount of time w.o. circulatory function - certainly longer than it takes to go 21'
