What does it do to taste, etc? I've been seriously looking at homebrewing, and I know sterilization is a big thing there. Would this be a suitable product?

Not sure about taste for brewing - Iodine is regularly used - you can taste in in Bud, etc. from time to time. You want to use Star-Xene for that - its a Chlorine-dioxide sanitizer, which bubbles out on heating.

It came about, because I bought some to try in the plant - it costs too much, relative to the liquid, for my purposes - might be able to find it cheaper from my chemical supplier, however.

Bleach sanitizer is OK, but v. corrosive to stainless steel, and it requires the solution to be hot to sanitize - its also not as forgiving - too much, and you won't be able to sanitize properly.
