A month and a half until Hurricane season

Post by Cybrludite »

And before anyone asks, no, there's no bag limit on them. And I'm sure that HTRN's working on something which will drop one in it's tracks.

Now that the obligatory jokes are out of the way, let me remind y'all that this would be a good time to rotate the batteries in your flashlights and to stock up on candles. Remember, you don't have to be hit directly by the storm to loose power. Katrina flattened an area the size of the UK, and knocked out power to an area the size of the chunk of Europe west of Germany and north of Spain. If there's a storm coming and you're late getting to the store, and the candle section is sold out, check the ethnic food aisle for menorah and saints candles. You'd be amazed how often they get overlooked, especially the menorah candles, since they're just another box on the shelf with the jars of gefilte fish.

I live in Washington. What's a hurricane?

You know the wind storms and rain we get eleven months out of the year? Like that, but with a lot more wind and a little less rain.
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom,...Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you...; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

If you live in earthquake country, it becomes a habit since you NEVER know when one's going to hit. Kinda' like putting up a new flag every Memorial Day.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

HTRN, I would tell you that you are an evil fucker, but you probably get that a lot ~ Netpackrat
