All,

We do not stoop to personal attacks on this site. Attack the argument, not the arguer.

While I think this is a dumb topic, I have no problem with you guys having fun with it, it is OBVIOUSLY a parody, just like the whole Zombie thing.

On the same token, Glenn's point, while not in the spirit of the thing, is salient.

Let's all do better please.

The thing to keep in mind, is that as the scenario of this little game was originally laid out, Glenn falls into the category of OPFOR. So expecting anything else out of him besides what you got, is a bit unrealistic.

You know, any time you go and change the parameters of your scenario, you should consider making it a point to go back and edit the original post to reflect the same changes. That way, anyone coming along new to the scenario will better understand the current situation before they come across the changes. And you can always re-title the post too.

It'll help to keep people from reading the initial post and perhaps being turned off prior to reading the updates.

Being responsible to arm your survival group in an EOTWAWKI situation is a much more appetizing scenario (to me anyway) than being a cult leader.

YMMV

Let's keep the personal attacks out the arguments, they do nothing to further your position or gain converts to your side.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

Just a thought. Or several. :?

If one continually makes good decisions, is fairly good looking and is blessed with skills that are attractive to others, how can you not become a "cult" leader (which explains why this thread is a fantasy for me).

We all have them, at school, at work, in the neighborhood. Anyone who is looked up to, depended upon, or is represented as a ideal when the spouse is running you down, can be nominated for cult leadership.

Now, the needs of the cult have to be taken into consideration, along with the sanity of it's members. If I am considering oblivion, then Jim Jones' cult might be attractive to me, as would the Branch Davidians if I were obsessing over the Second Coming. If our needs are for sane adult political leadership in Washington (either one, take your pick), it might help explain some of the political threads during the recent election.

Meanwhile, in this internet "cult" that I so happily participate in, I must tell you I rather enjoy these flights of fancy, where we step outside and pretend to be something we're not. I think it's healthy and fun.

But, I'm still looking for that sane adult political leadership, and the batteries are wearing out in my flashlight. ;)

So be it. I retract my personal attack and include an apology to one and all. However, my bringing up his banning from all things Dutoit is salient, as well. Watch and see. This will not be an isolated incident.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.
