I haven't had time to review much, but I'll add I still have a couple of solid brass luggage locks (not the tiny ones but not too large, which they made me take off my suitcases in 2001) attached to my carry bag's shoulder strap, said strap being modified by having the pot metal end clips replaced with steel ones from the hardware store. It would make a nice flail.

(My roommate in tech school thought Axe was a substitute for doing laundry. Under normal circumstances, this would be a fairly inoffensive mistake. Living in a building with no A/C in the Texoma desert in summer... for this, there can be no forgiveness.)

A co-worker was prevented from entering a courthouse here with a chain which secured his wallet to his belt. He asked why the others were allowed to enter with garrottes (belts and ties) and the stabbing devices you mention, and credit cards which can deliver, if not actual slices, pretty painful welts. No answer beyond mutterings. It's terrible when the populace has more imagination than our erstwhile guardians. At least when we delegate too much power to them with too little oversight and accountability requiring them to be reasonable and effective in their techniques.

1. I saw a "lady" in the Philippines deliver a cut that required 38 stitches to close. She used a Bicycle playing card. It's not the size of the dog in the fight; it's the size of the fight in the dog.

2. I carry a big-ass Master lock attached to my carry-on bag. (Keep the keys handy!). And about six feet of paracord inside the bag. If anyone asks, it for shoelaces.

3. And my carry-on has a half-dozen or so Bic pens.
