In an honest jurisdiction, I'd still expect such actions after an event like that - even wo the assault, the group's behavior was out of control - although I realize how insane a "5 over" ticket is in that area.

In the NE, after beating a "connected" person, in front of his wife and kids...

I'm guessing if the thugs get found, they won't be seen.

So far, there's been no provable connection between Lein and any NYSP higher ups. It appears the cop was talking out his ass to scare the biker.

The guy in the jalopnik article wasn't doing "5 over", he was doing 80 in a 55 through traffic 2up.

Now I know full well that 80mph on a bike is NOT all that fast, but I don't know that guys abilities and damn sure don't want him losing it and putting a 400# projectile through my windshield at that speed.

There are tons of videos on YT of guys riding back roads in the NY/NJ Palisades area(where he was stopped). HTRN/RiR/Greg most likely know the area around Bear Mnt/9W/Seven Lakes Dr. They use it as their own private little squid raceway. The same even happens on the famous "Dragons Tail" down south. And when one of these jackass squids goes over the line and whacks a car, guess who all their squid buddies blame.

Track days are cheap you fucking squids. Learn how to ride or one day it might not be a scared little man in a Range Rover but possibly a pissed off Irishman piloting a 40 ton wrecking ball.

Know it well. And I've seen more than one verbal altercation between Harley riders and the ricers* because the ricers were riding like complete assholes. Never saw any physical stuff. But it came close a few times.

Same goes for the Hawk's Nest: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawk%27s_Nest,_New_York

ETA: * To be clear, I have nothing against Jap bikes and have owned several of them in the past. It's the fuckwads like the ones in the video I despise. And their type has been doing it for at least 20 years on the West Side Highway, in NYC.
