Yeah, I'm getting conflicting answers. I think I'm gonna contact DPS and get an official answer.Rod wrote:Here's one site that says you may carry concealed in state parks. Questions 26 and 27 answers most of your questions.
Good to know.Rod wrote:In addition, the last legislative session, they passed a law that was enacted on Sept 1 which makes accidental disclosure of a concealed carry okay.

I've been poking around there for info. As to informing officers, I fully planned to wether required or not. Though I'm hoping to not have to deal with them.randy wrote:A good site for information that's updated regularly is handgunlaw.us
In addition to the interactive map of where your permit is good for, they have state summaries (such as the Ohio one as an example) that I save and store on my tablet/laptop just prior departure for states I'm traveling through on that trip...You must inform an LE officer when carrying during an official interaction. Follow their instructions. Attempting to handle your weapon without explicit instructions from LE could be a chargeable offense.
No plans to. The closest I'll be getting is Dallas. I'd love to see Yosemite and many of the other areas of CA, but it's out of reach and too much of a hassle.308Mike wrote:If you desire to CCW, DON'T come to COMMIEFORNIA

If all goes as planned, I'll be hitting the road the first week of May. I'll be starting a thread then and updating it from the road. Right now I'm not sure what cities I'll be hitting besides 3 or 4, but there will be a live feed of my whereabouts.Weetabix wrote:if you get as far north in AR as southern MO, feel free to give me a shout.

http://www.sled.sc.gov/SCStateGunLaws1.aspxSo, in a latched console is legal?

...
(9) a person in a vehicle if the handgun is secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle; however, this item is not violated if the glove compartment, console, or trunk is opened in the presence of a law enforcement officer for the sole purpose of retrieving a driver’s license, registration, or proof of insurance;
