I have BOB(s) , for winter and one for summer , nice to have, and remember to update them and replace expired stuff every so often.
Went through them this summer , some of the expiration dates were very old, yuk.

If you use an electronic calendar, it's easier to keep track of the stuff, otherwise, you need to make notations on future calendars to rotate your perishables in your BOBs. For me, the easiest way is to make the notes as soon as I get home with the items, otherwise I'll forget unless something else comes up needing my attention to our perishables. Having an outside inventory list also helps, so you can make appropriate notes as you use things to rotate stock (make a few batches of spaghetti with the noodles and replace them). Another way is to make it an annual habit to go through the bags at the same time each year (perhaps something like the Independence Day weekend, or Labor Day weekend, Memorial Day, or any other notable and memorable date which may trigger your need to ensure your supplies are up to date.

Only partway through the whole thread, it is a pretty good thread once you wade through all the rest of it.

I would add these to the BOB:

water filtration
toothbrush and toothpaste
towel
hat

Agree - I'm still wading :) - thanks for posting the thread, CC. The information provided by the Bosnian poster is eye-opening.

(It appears that The Gun Counter is one of the very few forums that does not have a substantial population of trolls and/or self-important juveniles.)

Other than the quality of our members, perhaps it's also simply a matter of numbers. That and as soon as a troll shows up, and makes his presence known, he's immediately overwhelmed (and hopefully hasn't had time to put on his fire suit and helmet    ).

Maybe we need a nice little TROLL smiley?

that's a sobering and thought provoking thread. At least as far as I read. It'd be good to distill a list with Major headings. Weapons/ammo, hygiene, fuel, food, barter items, etc.
