Woman shoots burglar

Post by Jered »

The woman, who was aware of the earlier burglary, went inside to grab a .357 magnum, Elfo said. When she got back, she saw the suspicious man trying to force his way past her husband and into the garage, so she fired several rounds.

The man was shot once in the back, said Undersheriff Jeff Parks. The injured man ran away, and deputies found him in the road minutes later. He was taken to St. Joseph hospital.

Deputies interviewed that man but left him at the hospital. He departed the hospital “quite some time” after that, Parks said. He was not under surveillance of deputies because they hadn’t established, for certain, that he was involved in the Burk Road burglary.

The woman who fired the gun told deputies she feared for her safety. Elfo said that might justify the shooting; the information will be turned over to the Whatcom County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges will be filed against her.
I really doubt that charges will be filed.

Seems like a justified shoot, and the guy is lucky he isn't dead.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

So the guy was shot after breaking into someone's house...but they didn't arrest him because they couldn't connect him with a different robbery? Holy crap, they're not working very hard, are they?

+1
Another place I don't even want to visit, let alone live there.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

I heard on the radio that the cops picked him up.
