I recall reading - some years ago - about a case where a dealer heard people setting up to invade his home, and prepared an ambush.

When the door was popped, and the "Gang" rushed in, they were cops on a "raid."

The choir-boy/homeowner already had his sights lined up, and (IIRC) killed one and wounded a couple more before he was taken out of the fight -- and he survived.

He pled "self-defense" to the charges, and was acquitted - on the basis that he had a legitimate reason to fear loss of life under the circumstances.

Whether this was news or fiction I cannot recall for sure - but my head is leaning toward "news"...
