4 guns? That's on a light day. Sometimes you gotta go heavy.

Um, for work.
Glock 30 under the shirt.
1911 on the hip, unless the G-21 takes it's place.
Colt Detective Special in the pocket.
Off duty? Take the DS away unless in snake territory.
We won't even go into what's in the car.
Several knives, a light, cuffs, pager, cell phone, etc.
Backup's a ways away normally.

I understand questioning the handcuffs, but in a LEO setting, you wouldn't think twice about it. I wouldn't be surprised to find out what he does lies somewhere in the middle between cops and non-cops. Without more information, it's best to accept his position as one he deems to protect himself and family ('cause you never know what else they've gone through with his history) before making judgment (and I've known MANY "security guard" who had MUCH more common sense, tact, discipline, and situational awareness - as well as report writing skills), 'cause many of these officers are actually BETTER personnel than what's employed by the local municipal agencies.Greg wrote:And I do question the handcuffs....

- It's a sad fact of life that all those testing evolutions don't necessarily reveal the BEST the local population has to offer, since there are FAR MORE intelligent cops who can NEVER make the grade simply due to errors in their childhood or even adolescence. I know straight-laced cops, who never did ANYTHING wrong when they were growing up and while in high school, and I also know some really HELL-RAISERS in high school who are now cops and they are some of the best cops on the department. But if you ask a Personnel Department of psychologist to select who's the better cop AFTER less that 5 YEARS, they'd have NO IDEA since EVERYTHING goes out the window after you've been a cop for only TWO YEARS. I GUARANDAMNTEE you that ANY COP who recently graduated the academy recently and is now out on the streets is NOT GOING TO BE THE SAME PERSON he was at the beginning of the two years!!!
GUARANTEED!!!
Besides the job, shift work tends to also do that too - 'cause no one else has the same days off they do, nor the same hours off they do - so they frequently tend to become neighborhood recluses unless they work at keeping outside friendships and activities going, otherwise they wind up living for the job.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Just because they are out to get you doesn't mean you're not paranoid...CByrneIV wrote:CombatController wrote:On my person there is one or two guns two lights and two knives, one a multi tool. Repeat for every car.
Something similar here.

I always have a knife, small pocket lamp and cash on me.
