A club is just that a club, like a baseball bat...(also known as cudgel, baton, truncheon, night stick, Knobkierie, Shillelagh and bludgeon)

A Mace - A mace is a metal club with a heavy head on the end, designed to deliver very powerful blows. The head of a mace may also have small studs forged into it. The mace is often confused with the spiked morning star which long nails sticking out from the ball...

a flail is a mace with a chain between the head and the shaft...

If you like the gunstock war club, Cold Steel offers their variation for sale.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I always thought a flail was more like industrial sized nun-chucks since they were actually agricultural tools used for threshing. I wouldn't think a heavy spiked ball would find it's way onto a flail so I've always thought those were maces.

From their site
made of Polypropylene. As you may know, this material is highly resistant to shock and is practically unbreakable making it particularly suitable for use in this weapon. And as an added bonus, this material is highly resistant to the elements and won’t warp, rot, shrink crack or splinter the way wood does.
Would you rather have that or the one pictured above...I think feathers and leather would clash with Cold Steel's...A weapon like that requires weight to be effective and then coupled with momentum to produce spectacular results...Ever see the movie "Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis and the Chingahkook used to dispatch a few of the Huron...

Only $50. That'd be awesome in a hoplophobe state like Illinois.

Still, wouldn't mind something that would pass for a walking stick. It helps to sell things that my knees go off like firecrackers when walking up stairs...

Yup, watched the movie a few times - have it on DVD. I wonder how many miles Daniel Day Lewis ran while making that movie?

I wouldn't want to add feathers and leather (other than a leash) to the Cold Steel one, and if I had to use it, I'd be far less worried about hurting it, losing it, breaking it, if I used the fake one made out of polyethylene rather than the real one you have pictured above - that one would go in a case or something, unless I needed to grab it right away - then all bets are off.

I love the scene where he takes out Magua near the end.

I wouldn't put feathers on the Cold Steel, that could lead to haunting. Adding some metal studs though, may not be a bad idea.
Buy ammunition and magazines.

You'll shoot your eye out!
