What does it shoot, the whole damn blade?
Nope, it looks like it had ammuntion for it, so I'm guessing that the blade was drilled for a barrel. They never went into detail about it, and I can't find out how it's supposed to work in the intarwebs. It's from the video game "Final Fantasy VIII," which was a pretty cool RPG released in 1998.

In the game you had to hit a button at the right time for it to go off(as you sliced the enemy) for extra damage. It looked like it caused a small explosion at point blank range.

Theres one more that looks like it was based off of a Beretta style pistol. Link

Of course, if you're just after treasure: YARRR!

I think a much cheaper and more versatile pistol knife would be something made to clamp on a Picatinny Rail - almost like a universal handgun bayonet.

Both of them have a rifled barrel on the top of the blade, the second is just a longer blade/barrel and they break open like a single shot, bullet inserted and fired by one of the levers, I believe the top one...

I remember the first ones out about 15 years ago and I thought the company went under or was closed down by the Bastards Attacking Thoughtlessly Forever U BATF(U)...I've seen one at any of the knife shows I've attended even Reno and Las Vegas or New York...
There is a certain type of mentality that thinks if you make certain inanimate objects illegal their criminal misuse will disappear!

Damn the TSA and Down with the BATF(u)E!
