I likey! Nice bit of work on the sheath too.

Speaking of Nepali's. We've got a large group of Nepali refugees join our church since last spring. Now I'm wondering what those smallish, quiet, friendly men might be hiding under their loose thrift shop winter clothes... :?

Looks nice!

There was a movie that had some guy forge a knife from a vehicle spring. Among other "Hollywood-izations", the character managed to forge a knife from the spring while in a SERE situation. I'm sure it was a lot more work than the movie version!

5160, the steel that's commonly used in automotive suspension springs(at least American Made vehicles) is a good steel to make a working knife - very cheap(visit you're local boneyard!), holds a decent edge, and can be made reasonably sharp. It doesn't have anything on it compared to the likes of D2, S2, 52100 in terms of edge holding or ultimate sharpness, so I wouldn't recommend it for small blades that need to be very sharp and stay that way. For larger Camp style knives and big Bowies, it's almost ideal.

I saw that movie. Not bad overall but gun beats knife. I am now trying to remember another movie from the 70's or more likely the 80's about knife fighters. I just remember the ending in an empty warehouse he kills what I assume was his mentor?
