That's really funny! I did the same this past January, I had been working in a garage prior to the flight and had put the screwdriver, coincidentally a Craftsman, into my pocket and then went to the airport forgetting it was there. While standing in the security line I put my hand in my pocket and had one of those "oh crap" moments. But I told the TSA lady that I had accidentally brought it along and she said it looked fine and that I could keep it with me. I was pretty shocked to say the least.
I picked up the Escort III and the ergonomics are all screwed up. It is unusable and almost impossible to hold. Fortunately the Customer service is superb and are sending an Escort I which I requested and refunding the difference. I must say though, it is so light I was unaware it was in my hand. So it seems ideal for lightweight carry...

Get one of these and you don't need a doctor to write you a note. http://www.unbreakable-umbrella.com/ Good luck getting a note from your doctor. When my mother had back pain and the doctor recommended sitting with support, she wanted a fancier chair. You'd think that the doctor thought he'd have to pay for it himself if he wrote a prescription for one.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Easy enough when you've got internal hardware holding you together.
HTRN, I would tell you that you are an evil fucker, but you probably get that a lot ~ Netpackrat

I need a rebuild of my left knee, but so far have declined due to the lack of insurance and the trouble it's causing me isn't immediately terrible. So, instead, I use a cane to help me get by when my knee is giving me trouble. I use the City Stick, but it has a Pistol Grip steel head (which is quite solid and heavy), and allows the cane to be hung on the edge of a counter, hooked over the edge of a restroom door, shopping cart/carriage, etc., etc.
This cane has served me well so far, and if you were looking for a defensive cane, I could recommend this one but haven't had to use it in defensive mode yet, so I don't know how well it actually works in practice (even though I've practiced with certain defensive moves and techniques taught in police Riot Control training).
YMMV
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
