The handle is sweet, but I don't dig the blade. Just personal preference. Nice project.
Years from now our children and grandchildren living in a 3rd world America will ask "What were you doing on March 21st 2010 and why didn't you stop it?"

I too like the handle retainer. The blade looks a little heavy for the length though.
5160 is nice because it's cheap and easily found at your nearest junkyard. Downside is ultimate sharpness, and edge retention is down compared to say, D1 or S7. Easily sharpened though. Also, as it's not even a semistainless, it will rust. It's a great choice for big bowies, or camp knives.

And as far as the blade shape goes, until I make something that looks like a Randall 1-7, I'm not 100% satisfied either.
I'm a forging rookie so my work follows it's own way, I don't have control yet. Like a third-grader's painting; what starts out as a flower ends up as tree.
