Decently high-end stainless steel. Good stuff.

A few years ago when it was newer and more of a novelty, it went through a "flavor of the month" stage- those are never good. You had fanboys saying it was tougher than 5160, and knee-jerk naysayers insisting it was useless crap. Both wrong, of course. So if you do some web searches and see lots of ridiculously overblown statements, that's why.

I'm down to my last 2 Spyderco's. (overpriced but still....I really miss that Jess Horn)
I still carry my Jess Horn on a daily basis. Tried to buy another a few years ago and couldn't find one anywhere. I also have a Kershaw Blur that I like for the fast opening feature. If I could find one just a little bigger than the Jess Horn with the same blade shape and just a little smaller than the Blur with the opening feature, textured grip, and the reversable pocket clip, I'd have just about the perfect combination, in my opinion.

Got the "Onion" series mostly, the Chive has replaced the Horn but I still miss those micarta scales.

Co-Workers at the time had a habit of not remembering to pick them up and leaving them places, soon to be snatched up by others.

Ceramic blades don't make for very good folders or fighters, although they keep an INCREDIBLY SHARP edge for a long time, but you have to send them back to the factory for sharpening.

I absolutely LOVE my Kyocera ceramic blade kitchen knife (DON'T DROP IT ON THE TILE FLOOR)!
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Deal Extreme has ceramic cooking knives that are dagger length FYI. Plus others!
