Announcing SC Carry

Since it appears that there is not a functional SC gun rights organization, I am happy to announce that today marks the beginning of SC Carry.

I have been considering this for a while now and decided to pull the trigger finally. I have already spoken with people from FL Carry, GA Carry and CT Carry as well as people from the SAF for guidance, and help. I also have contacts with other groups that I intend to seek out.

I have also already started the process of seeking out tax advice for filing as a 501(c) tax exempt non-profit. Additionally there are thoughts of both an educational side of this organization as well as a lobbying arm.

If there are any issues that I should be aware of, anything that should be looked at or anything I seem to be doing wrong, please call me out on it.

Please note, I have looked at some of the stories about GrassRoots SC, information seems to be hard to come. After lengthy discussions with other people in the industry, I decided that the best route was to simply start anew and not try to involve myself or the name of this organization in the politics of what appears to have happened in the past. This is not about any one person, this is about gun rights for all in SC.

I will likely be needing involvement of others in the future, if you are willing to help, please let me know. I do plan on having heavy involvement in this forum and others as I believe that the internet is the best way to get the issues that need to be addressed out to the public at large.

With all of this said, I hope to have SCCarry.org and Southcarolinacarry.org up and functional soon.

Fantastic!

If nothing else, we can lend moral support. It's free.

Keep your goals and your message simple, then keep on hammering away at it.

Where are you in SC? GRGR still has a somewhat active email list.

OUTSTANDING!!! I wish you well in your organizational efforts, and hope you have little to no conflicts along the way! I hope that eventually, you'll be able to steer your state to Constitutional Carry, much like the other states sporting "Freedom Carry" for firearms!

If you are talking about the group I think you are talking about, from what I can see, their website stopped updating in March of 2011 and a court ordered them to cease activity around the same time frame.

Well, TMK, I'm still on the GrassRoots GunRights listserv.... Maybe its called something else now - same one I've been on for years, but it does seem less active - I rarely bother to read it...

Hell, at least almost ALL of you are farther along than those of us suffering from enslavement here in COMMIEFORNIA!! Although NO ONE makes us stay here (besides our previous obligations to family and relatives), but for the most part, the rest of us can leave this forsaken place, and I hope they do in DROVES and take all their taxpayer money with them, bleeding this state dry!!!

Once my mom is gone, there is nothing keeping us here in CA, and we're looking to be on the next large RV outta' here to parts all over the USA, to meet friends and experience this great nation where others haven't, so that we may share our experiences with others in print, and to simply explore these GREAT United States, and share our experiences with our friends - WHEREVER they may be. And we plan on traveling the ENTIRE USA by land (AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE - Alaska and Hawaii are exceptions, Alaska for possession of firearms reasons, otherwise we'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to travel a "Second Amendment corridor" to visit Alaska).

Semper Fi!!

Way to go man. That is a huge step and a huge undertaking.

Get some good people helping you and by that I mean good moral people not just willing gun NUTS. You'll need the help of the first and sometimes the second group is worse than the Brady's.
