Drinking parties. Sex in the laundry room. Social dates and text messaging. Sex in a truck. In a bathroom. And in the barracks.

Between February 2007 and November 2008, 12 drill sergeants and advanced individual training instructors at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., admitted in court-martial proceedings to having engaged in such forbidden sexual and social relationships with trainees.

Each soldier pleaded guilty to at least one count of violating Regulation 350-6 — wrongfully engaging in a personal and social relationship with a trainee — and dozens of other related offenses on and off post between December 2005 and August 2008.

Fort Leonard Wood officials told Army Times there is “no clear pattern” in the conduct of the cadre over the two and a half years, indicating they all appeared to have acted alone.

There were no allegations made against any officers in the Fort Leonard Wood cases, according to officials there.

Do you think that the co-ed training is part of the problem?

Why bother with the fleshpots of Cassville when you can get some right on base?

Wait, it's not Cassville, what IS the name of that fleabitten town outside the fort? The hillbilly mafia runs things there... Waynesville, that's it!

Gee, maybe that's the same problem the Navy has with co-ed warships and high pregnancy rates towards the end of deployments.

I was at Fort Lost in the Woods in 1969. If there were any women there, I never saw them. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Since it is politically correct, you can be sure that is not the problem.

The end??? You should see the pregnancy rate BEFORE a 6 month cruise...honest to God, I can clearly remember seeing girls hauling their seabags down the brow by the dozens a month or two before we would ship out. And not long after going out to sea...when they figured out that it wasn't as fun as the recruiter told them! Rarely would the girls end up pregnant at the end of a deployment...of course that was 20 years ago. And yes, the sexual shenanigans onboard ships was legendary at the time...particularly among the women. Yep, lesbians were close to a full third of our compliment of women and they never bothered to hide it.

Not being Navy myself, I could only go by what I was told and didn't remember if it was the beginning or end of deployments. I can see it now, some of them doing ANYTHING to get out of not having to go to sea, including getting pregnant by whom they don't care.

One variant of this I saw in the AF more than once was someone about to go on the "fat girl" program and, voila, they're pregnant and therefore exempt from the weight standards.
