The Air Force is expanding the bonus program for pilots, combat system officers and air battle managers.
The larger fiscal 2009 aviation continuation pay program offers bonuses to many pilots who turned down earlier offers, and to pilots, combat system officers and air battle managers who qualify for retirement and aren’t already receiving bonus pay.
The Air Force increased the pool of eligible aviators in hope of filling the growing number of cockpit and staff assignments focused on nuclear missions, reconnaissance and remote-controlled aircraft, said Lt. Col. Dewey DuHadway, chief of rated force policy for the Air Staff.
