NORFOLK, Va. — For the first time since the security crackdown after the 2001 terrorist attacks, Navy ships in Hampton Roads will be available for public viewing during Fleet Week.
Non-military visitors will be allowed into Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek this coming Sunday and Monday and are invited aboard the dock landing ship Whidbey Island and the coastal patrol vessels Monsoon and Thunderbolt.

When the F*$% did they send MY God damned ship to the EAST coast!!!
Plankowner U.S.S. Monsoon (PC-4) here.
Spec Sheet here
Looks like they just recommissioned it. Coast guard likely didn't like having to foot the bill for it.
Oh, wait, on that list it was probably status changed for shipyard work, dry dock, or something similar.

well hello Mr. Fancy Pants!
LOL
The thing that go my undies in a bunch was that it was a west coast ship, and now it's stuck within spitting distance of D.C.
Poor old girl. It really doesn't seem like it's been that long. Time flies, I guess.
