NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana man is sentenced to a year of home confinement after pleading guilty to illegally wearing military medals at his wedding.

U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey also Tuesday sentenced 42-year-old Andy Jerome Ticker of Holden to two years of supervised release and ordered him to pay a $500 fine.

Prosecutors said Ticker has never served in the armed forces, but he wore a Navy captain’s dress white uniform at his April 12 wedding in Slidell.

The uniform was adorned with several medals and decorations, including a Silver Star, Purple Heart and Navy Cross. The latter is the second-highest medal next to the Medal of Honor.

Wearing military medals without proper authority is a federal crime.
He's OBVIOUSLY a liar, so I wonder what his new bride thinks about her husband now?

he should be required to enlist and then made to serve on latrine duty for 3 years.

his wife should get a no questions asked annulment.

Well, since he apparently prefers the Navy, latrine and bilge duty on something small, like a submarine tender, so there's lots of motion out on the open ocean. Unless of course, latrine & bilge duty on a ship with over 5,000 personnel on board would be worse. I'd rather have him sea-sick the whole time.

how about cleaning out the biohazard storage tanks on a hospital ship... something near Africa that deals with lot of dysentery should work nicely.

Hot, humid, and smelly - like death, should do nicely.

Holden is right down the road from where I lived for a good while. It doesn't surprise me in the least. There's a lot of "I would have joind the military, and been awesome at whatever special forces they pipe-lined me into, but it would have meant cutting my hair, and I just wasn't ready to do that" types.

Maybe the real vets will be looking for him soon...

I was thinking more along the lines of putting him to work with EOD without the robot.

I suppose it would punish her, as well, to make him stay married.

I have trouble with this guy. Whatever could posses him? Also, how was he busted? Must have had a veteran friend who knew better and turned him in.
