Guys, some lowlife destroyed an Iraq veteran's Jeep at DBU (Dallas Baptist University). I have written up a post about it on my blog. They cut up and painted the entire thing including spraying "Soldiers are Murderers" on the hood.

A lot of people are going to help put it back together, and the 4x4 industry is mobilizing to upgrade it significantly for him. The soldier, Viktor Whitlow, has a Paypal account set up for donations.

Let's get together and help out this man who has given so much to our country, only to come back and have this happen to him.

From the video at the link:
"Dallas police do not consider this a hate crime..."
If this isn't a "hate crime" then there's no such thing.

AFAIK, TX doesn't have hate crimes. You can kill a man for burning a cross in your yard though, and we'll execute him for lynching you...

It's not just that, but:
Dallas police said Whitlow's case is not considered a hate crime because military personnel cannot be members of a hate crime.
HUH????? I think they need to better explain that statement. Of course, it's VERY probable the reporter has it all screwed up.

I would assume that means that soldiers aren't in a protected class. In Minnesota, it's race/gender/religion/etc, to get the additional sentence.
