KABUL, Afghanistan – Pakistani troops fired at American reconnaissance helicopters patrolling the Afghan-Pakistan border Thursday, heightening tensions as U.S. steps up cross-border operations in a region known as a haven for Taliban and al-Qaeda militants.

Two American OH-58 reconnaissance helicopters, known as Kiowas, were on a routine afternoon patrol in the eastern province of Khost when they received small arms fire from a Pakistani border post, said Tech Sgt. Kevin Wallace, a U.S. military spokesman. There was no damage to aircraft or crew, officials said.

“They did not cross the border and they did not fire back,” Wallace said.

U.S. forces and Pakistan's military “are working together to resolve the matter,” a NATO statement said.

*grumble* there's a resolution I'd like to make with Pakistan.

And the resolution is a Ving Rhames line from Pulp Fiction.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd need to be educated on that item to get it.

I think we need to neutralize their nuclear arsenal, and then tell them how things are going to be. Enough of this nearly decade of dicking around, while UBL sits in his cave eating figs.

That's the line, Mekender.

UBL isn't sitting in a cave, eating figs, unless you're counting him having a guest room in some Paki intel brass' house, and those figs are a euphamism for pre-teen boy genitals.

He's in a cave alright - he died in the bombing of the cave complex of Tora Bora. You think it's a coincidence that all his little spiels to the media mysteriously stopped(at least the date verfiable ones) shortly after? He's the most wanted man on the planet. If he was alive, somebody would have turned him in, or at least passed it along for the reward money.
