Yeah, that's the big story in Sweden now. He'd been on the security police's radar since 1996, and on the watch list, but they reportedly lost track of him in 2006. At that time he had been doing the rounds for a few years in the media claiming how he was innocent, and never did anything wrong, etc..etc...The Swedish news agency TT reported that the man killed was also a Swedish citizen. Swedish officials confirmed that a Moroccan Swede suspected of al-Qaida ties was killed in early October but declined to elaborate. They also said he was on the U.N. and the EU terror watch lists.

Isn't that hotlinking? Is that kosher?308Mike wrote:The easiest thing is to find it already posted somewhere on the Internet and then use their image and post it with the IMG tags. I'm not sure why it shows some pics and not others when attached and placed inline.rightisright wrote:I f*ed it up twice Mike. I'm such a computer goober.![]()
Think I got it now!
ETA: How do I make a pic visible IN the post without having to click the attachment? I Hit "View Inline" before posting.

It is hotlinking and usually considered poor netiquette, at least it was in the past when bandwidth was at a much higher premium and everyone's pipes were smaller. Lately, much of the various forum software I've seen is setup by default to allow and accept hotlinking with the option to disable it.Darrell wrote:Isn't that hotlinking? Is that kosher?
As long as you're not being a leech off a site by hotlinking a ton of their images, few seem to care much anymore as long as you're not rude about it. Attitudes change and I haven't kept current on what's the latest in the tech world.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

The real problem isn't so much hotlinking, it's gigaloaderlike attacks.
Personally, I'm amazed apps like Black widow and Vampire aren't more widespread.

it happens a lot more than that... they loose sometimes 4 or 5 #2 guys a month... sometimes they will nail someone before he even gets promoted...Dub_James wrote:So al-Qaeda lose their equivalent of Dick Cheney every 6 months or so, and ours is supposed to be the lost cause?

You mean it's a dirty job always whacking the AQ #2 man, and NOT being the #2 man to get whacked?Dub_James wrote:"I'm Mike Rowe, and this is a Dirty Job"

They've gone through more second-in-command types than Darth Vader went through Imperial officers.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."
