Linkarooni
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Hey. I know one of those guys!

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

The Warrant Officer classifcation has always weirded me out. Neither commisioned Officer or non-commisioned. Neither feast, nor fowl.
Doesn't the Navy address both Midshipman and Warrants as "Mister (and whatever the female equivalent is this epoq)?"

Well, the Warrant Officer has a commission...just not from Congress (the commission comes from their individual branch and since it doesn't come from Congress they are not "Commissioned Officers.") Generally speaking you get to be a Warrant because you are just that damn good at your job. In some cases (Army and recently the Navy) they give you the rank of Warrant when they want an enlisted person to be trained in jobs typically held by officers (ie pilot.)sam wrote:The Warrant Officer classifcation has always weirded me out. Now Midshipmen is kind of a funny one. Unlike Cadet that both the Army and Air Force use, Midshipmen is an actual rank dating back to the times of sail. Just like in Master and Commander Midshipmen held actual positions of leadership and were to be accorded the same respects due other officers by the enlisted men of the boat. To this day, technically Midshipmen still warrant a salute and greeting from the enlisted ranks but rarely ever due because most simply do not even know what you are when you show up. Because of this status Midshipmen falls as a rank between Warrant Officer and Commissioned Officer.
JAG: So why do you need armor piercing ammo?
tcourtplayer: Zombies
JAG: For when they hide behind engine blocks?
tcourtplayer: Just because the movies say they will be dumb and slow doesn't make it true.
JAG: WOW!!!
