Not surprising--southwest of it just a bit is a tired-looking airstrip with what are 6 or 7 probably defunct fighter aircraft baking away.
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

That may be the air base ISIS took, capturing the Syrian forces there. They were marched out into the desert and massacred. That was in the news a while back. That event and the Jordanian pilot's execution happened in the same area.

There's also some sort of grain storage site nearby, the sister said that's what she was looking for when she found the missile site. Here it is:

Not sure why she was looking for it. Ah, here it is:

In Part I, we map the long march north of captured Syrian army soldiers from desert hamlets southwest of Tabqa airbase, to nameless grain silos for transport to an execution site east of A-Raqqa.
It won't let me copy the rest, very interesting though, with maps, timeline, and video/satellite image analysis. The grain storage is mentioned at point six. Here's part two:

The airfield is actually more interesting than the SAM site. I counted 17 of what look to be Mig fighters sitting there, some parked in front of earth reenforced hangers, and who knows whats parked inside of them.

Look like Mig 21s from here with one 15 or 17 down in the lower right.
