Cost allocated per ration...

Can someone tell me how much each ration can cost? Mostly just something to keep myself occupied. Also, who would you contact in the military to provide an argument over training methods and food/details about training methods? Admittedly, it's anecdotal, but it seems as if the military puts far too much development into the anterior deltoid.

When you're out in the sucks, it sucks to get some nasty barely edible food.

In a very different way, I understand that. Back when I was competing, I learned, very quickly, that my body was wrecked if I ate any chemical food/was exposed to tobacco smoke, drank, etc -- I spent some time in the back woods of Belarus, and my training went through the roof -- all their food was natural, because they didn't have anything else. All the chemicals, additives, etc act as poisons in your system/interfere w. either your insulin or testosterone levels.

I realize soldiers are not going to maintain the same dedication to a diet that an athlete would -- nor can they, in all probability.

Every soldier I've seen coming back from Iraq has been very underweight - which will interfere w. his ability to engage in repeated anaerobic activity -- such as repeated sprints, esp. while wearing all the body armor, carrying a pack, etc.

Essentially, it would reworking the diet and training of soldiers as athletes, which, frankly, IMO, they're approaching, at least in certain situations.
