Palin pardons turkey, while cameras show others slaughtered

WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin has granted the traditional Thanksgiving pardon to a turkey, but the video that shocks some viewers captured what was happening in the background of her news conference.
As she answered questions Thursday at Triple D Farm & Hatchery outside Wasilla, cameras from the Anchorage Daily News and others showed the bloody work of an employee slaughtering birds.

[sarcasm]I'm shocked, shocked I say, to find out that turkey sandwich meat doesn't magically appear in my grocer's deli all neatly wrapped in cellophane.

I swear, I think a requirement for HS graduation should be that each student has to slaughter, dress & clean, and cook a chicken. I'd exempt kids for religious reasons(Hindu, etc), but not just because "it's gross".
Man, the increasing number of stupid and ignorant people is going to FUBAR this nation.

Those poor, poor turkeys. Why couldn't it happen to those damn flying rats known as canada geese instead?

"It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From ... W ... K ... R... P!! No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenburg tragedy has there been anything like this!"

It wasn't that big of a deal,
here's the video I watched. You don't really see much other than th guy holding the turkey upside down to drain the blood after snipping off the head.
I tried to post a screen capture, but the forum software won't let.
