Gardener Ordered to Remove Barbed Wire Fence

A British gardener’s local council has ordered him to remove a 3-foot high barbed wire fence around his property in case thieves hurt themselves on it, the Daily Mail reported Thursday.

Bill Malcolm, 61, installed the wire at his Worcester property after burglars robbed his tool shed and vegetable plots three times in four months, stealing more than $500 worth of hardware.

But Malcolm’s local council told him the wire was a health and safety hazard and warned him they would remove it by force if he did not do it himself, the Mail reported.

He probably wouldn't need barbed wire, and could use the plain if he also used a fencer.

You're not supposed to lock up your stuff in the UK.

He should know that by now.

In most suburban communities in the US, it would be illegal as well. NY even limits how high you can put a fence in a residential area. I thought this was blindingly obvious.

Besides, he should have planted "organic barbwire". I mean, hell, he lives in the country that invented the concept.

Not long ago a council told its people not to lock their sheds in order to prevent damage by thieves, but the police said lock everything up. The council wants to avoid litigation, and the police want to avoid investigating. What to do, what to do?

It is unbelieveable to see how far a country can fall that was once the greatest power in the world. I knew people can be stupid but to see so many that are stupid to apply laws against the general public to helpthieves, damm. I always thought moonbats was an adjative. I guess there are really such things in this world :?:

Probably just that the politicians recognize someone in a related line of work and feel more kinship to thieves than to productive honest citizens.

Of course they don't want thieves to hurt themselves, the taxpayers would be paying for their injuries, since they are already paying for their healthcare.
