My, this is really going to help recruiting efforts to get smart technically trained people.
At one time I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a youth to enlist, but now not so much.

Between the PC bullshit and this, there is no way I would recommend anyone enlist in this cultural climate.

I see the Army PC brass wants the police to chase the armed citizens away from the recruiting offices.
So after they do that, what's the reaction if the now bare front offices get hit again?
How much heat can the white chocolate RINO's in the US Senate take?

Isn't that in violation of the 1st Amendment that they swore to uphold?

Don't hold it against them.
It's hard for the Army leadership to find it's way forward, without any dicks in their pants to helpfully point out that direction.
The only problem with the current leadership climate there is that one day, there'll be another war, and they'll find out too late that their Ox Breeding Program for senior officer development is a predictable failure.

Meanwhile on the Navy side of the house:
On Saturday, conservative commentator Allen B. West wrote a blog post saying sources had told him the Navy would bring charges against Lt. Cmdr Timothy White for illegally discharging a firearm on federal property. White and a Marine are believed to have fired their personal weapons during the July 16 attacks that killed four Marines and one sailor.

The Pentagon prohibits military personnel from carrying personal weapons while on duty.

West's story quickly spread online and commenters on the Navy's Facebook page expressed outrage over the idea of White facing charges.

The Navy quickly responded that the West allegations are false.

"Stories of Navy personnel being charged with an offense are not true. There is still a long way to go in reviewing the facts of this tragic incident, but at this time we can confirm no service member has been charged with an offense," the Navy said in a statement posted to social media.

Linky
Apparently the Navy trial balloon was shot down with Phalanx fire, and no charges are in progress nor even contemplated. 8-)

As it should have been. If they had persisted, I also imagine his Congresscritter and Senators might have had a thing to say about it, since we're coming up on an election year.

The potential weasel words lie here:
" There is still a long way to go in reviewing the facts of this tragic incident"

and yes, I read the link. "nor are any being contemplated" is an open-ended ambiguity.
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

Translation: the officer's naval career is toast, and after the bad publicity shit-storm dies down, we will try to quietly charge him with something.
