It isn't the uniqueness, it's the scale - being able to dispose of it all in one lot is alot safer than lot's of little sales, where your name gets around.

In my experience, most gun stores have pathetic security. It's enough to deter an enthusiastic amateur, but a professional crew? Not a chance in hell. I've BUILT security systems for gun stores, and their owners are almost universally too cheap, and too unconcerned with professionals, to put in effective security measures; even though they often are higher value targets than banks and jewelry stores.
To bring up two shops that Chris should be familiar with in the Phoenix area:
When AJI was burgled a couple years ago, the perpetrators broke into the store next door, then simply went through the drywall. All of Jeff's security was directed outward (external alarms, reinforced windows etc) none was directed sideways. I believe the folks who broke into Legendary a few months ago pulled the same trick.

Perimeter alarms only, no motion detector zones inside?! That's a shit system, especially for a big gun store.

I am just putting the finishing touches to the design for my own new house security system. It's way better than that :-)
