I understand that they took the kids to school and other activities too, so if they wanted to protect the kids, they could have picked then up in a very low risk environment.

If you ever read the ATF's social media page, they get a lot of hate, especially about this.

In a just world, Janet Reno would have been tried, convicted, and given the death penalty. This, in addition to the same fate befalling the head goons on site.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

In a just world, the Branch Davidian compound would have been made of poured concrete and they ATF would have been the ones roasted alive. Perhaps even caught in a crossfire betwettn the Davidians and local LEO's
