Just because modern transportation will take you someplace does not mean that the modern laws will apply there.

The French have ceded territory to a bunch of lawless foreigners, and are afraid to take them on? Who'd have thunk it?
A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

Someone might accuse them of being mean.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

You have to be brave to be a really good journalist and get the kind of interesting/unusual story that people want to read. The same could have happened to a man venturing into the woods alone among these desperados. I hope this horrific experience does not make this young woman give up her intended career. Perhaps she should write about her experience as a way of overcoming it.

Yet another potential victim waiting in the wings. Did I say "victim?" Scratch that. She wasn't a victim. She was a volunteer.

Oops, I should have read the story first. Sorry, poor taste on my part.

I see this kind of thing way too often in Europe.
Women, and girls, believing that it's no danger, and that they can handle themselves, and then put themselves in what most clear thinking individuals would realize is highrisc situations. Then they get hurt.

What usually happens after that is an outrage against *all* men, for being "animals".
There's even talk from the feminist left to institute a "male tax", to get all men to pay an extra tax to cover the costs for "mens violence against women".

You see it all the time on American college campuses. Usually, it's one or two co-eds staggering back from the bar at 2am through an urban, high-crime area.
