Guilty until proven innocent

Post by D5CAV »

While you were distracted by a country most Americans can't find on a map, our magicians in DC pulled another sleight of hand trick: https://themachinegunnest.com/guilty-un ... -into-law/

All the hookers and blow Ukraine supplied to Uncle Joe's family is money well spent. Ukraine gets $13.6 billion. Pretty good ROI for Natasha, some of her friends and a few kilos
President Biden has signed a $1.5 Trillion spending bill that sends $13.6 Billion to Ukraine and funds the Government until September. The bill itself passed the Senate with a bipartisan 68-31 vote.
But while you are cheering the funding for those poor, helpless Ukrainians, you forgot to tell your favorite congresscritter to look on page 2207 of a 3000 page bill:
So, inside the omnibus bill is a previously failed act called VAWA, or the Violence Against Women’s Act. This act contains significant backdoor gun control that stands to harm gun owners. But you wouldn’t know that just by reading the title. The swamp creatures in the Senate took the opportunity to revive VAWA (which initially failed explicitly because of the gun control provisions), placing the gun control section 2207 pages into the overall bill itself.
Ukrainians gets AK47s with happy switches, Javelins and MANPADS, but you are now serfs. So much for 2A Sanctuary counties.
As the situation in Ukraine continues to capture the headlines here in the United States, this massive spending bill will likely be overlooked by the corporate legacy media. It is ironic while the Ukrainians are being praised, funded, and even given weapons in some cases. Meanwhile, regular Americans here in the United States are slowly having those same rights eroded bit by bit.

Fair number of "conservative" Republican votes in favor, too, including my personal </sarc> favorite, the retiring (as an alternative to getting his fundament smoked in a primary) Anthony Gonzalez. Dollars to doughnuts he either doesn't come back to the district at all, or only comes back long enough to pack up for whatever earthly sinecure he bought with his soul. The decent people here, if any, will shun the POS.
