That is just icing on the cake on why they should have been shot when they started breaking in.

If it was an insurrection, they forgot:
their firearms
their molotovs
to hunt down the evil politicos and hang them from lamp posts
to destroy large sections of building
to take hostages
to even bring provisions for holding the buildings they took
I could go on, but speaking / choir...

It's not like we don't have HUNDREDS of insurrection examples to compare it to or they had to act as a roadmap.
