Hoping for the best.

Regardless of outcome, I'm looking forward to, indeed salivating, reading any opinions offered by Thomas, Gorsuch or Barrett.

I am thinking that the conservatives on the court would not have taken the cert unless they were confident that they were going to get a majority. However, I have a feeling that Robert's will ensure the decision is more narrow than it should be, because that is how he is. That said, it may be fir for the better.

I would rather they work out the full faith and credit side of things but that does not seem likely to be covered here.

Here's a different take: https://reason.com/volokh/2021/04/26/ma ... v-corlett/

Seems the Court has twisted the Question Presented (QP) from what the plaintiffs asked, and in such as way as to allow for a very narrow ruling.

Langenator,

That exactly fits my point. Roberts loves narrow rulings for whatever reason. So there is an excellent chance that they will overturn the NY law but do it in n such a way that they either can replace it with something functionality similar or do anyway and end up right back in court.

Roberts disappoints me regularly.

I think the reason why Roberts loves narrow rulings, is he doesn't want to upset the applecart. He doesn't want to go down in history as "that guy", in other words, a moral coward.
