I don't know what to believe anymore. I do know I don't believe anything coming from Government sources. When you begin to connect the dots there's certainly cause for concern.
Consider the announcements about deploying 20K troops within the U.S.?

Some would like to see it happen, but I just can't believe it at this point.

Re: The Coming Currency Collapse
Can't see Canadians being stupid enough to join with Mexico, much less the United States. An event like this probably would start a North American war. As far as the Amero, sounds like someone has their tin hat on too tight.
one can be a Democrat, or one can choose to be an American.

Re: The Coming Currency Collapse
One doesn't have to consider conspiracies and the Amero to observe that the USD is rightfully heading for a big fall. The Fed has been inflating at a record pace (which led to the real estate bubble), and all of these new $ gezillion bailouts and handouts will be financed by running the printing press non-stop, 24-7.
In spite of this, the dollar has appreciated against many/most currencies since the big meltdown. Go figure. But the Loonie has been back down to $.80 USD and looks like a tremendous bargain and safe haven for those of us currently holding all our assets in USD demoninated instruments. (Can US citizens set up bank accounts in Canada?)
As for the Amero, I've read elsewhere that the Canadian Dollar is pretty sound. If that's the case, and the USD is going to tank, why would the Canadians want to throw in with a North American currency??

...the author believes this one -- despite his source (someone that he willingly dubs a "conspiracy promoter") giving no shred of proof that he knows what in hell he's talking about.I have problems with conspiracies and rarely jump to conclusions based on fear, but...
In that case, SURE, I believe him, too...

Re: The Coming Currency Collapse
The collapse of the US currency is just a matter of time, and time is short. Here is some basic math, we need 2 billion a day to service our debt. The T-Bills are paying less than 0% right now. We have a 62 trillion liabilities in social programs alone. Our GDP is 13 trillion but this year is off by 20% due to the Worldwide Depression which leaves 10.4 trillion. Our yearly deficit is going to be 4 trillion a year and we have spend in the last 9 months of 2008 over 8 trillion and counting. What will be coming is hyper-inflation. Two books that are just great and timely is Empire of Debt and The Coming Generational Storm.

Hyper inflate through bailouts and huge spending then tell the people that the dollar is in irreversible collapse and merging nations in a EU style and introducing a new currency is our best option for avoiding certain depression.

Sadly, the right man wasn't running -- we can grow our way out of our problems, but that will require deregulation, and killing Social security for the younger folks -- I can't imagine anyone under 40 has any delusions about SS.
I suspect part of the issue with our monetary policy, is no one saves cash anymore -- it has always been a less desirable investment -- frankly, it's just plain dumb, until you're going to be dependent on that sum for your livelihood. [EG. It makes sense for my grandmother in her late 80s, but not for me (28)].

I'll be 55 in a couple of months and I don't have much hope of seeing any of my "investment" (spit). I've wanted to opt out of the ponzi scheme ever since I started working but NOOOO! can't have that. At least then I would have had a better chance of providing for my own retirement.Aglifter wrote:-- I can't imagine anyone under 40 has any delusions about SS.
