She should be impeached for that.

"Who really cares about it being unconstitutional?" said Councilwoman Tonya Payne, a supporter.
Really, what more do you need to know?.

Oh, and she's a member of the Jackass party.

Do these people really hear the drivel that comes out of their mouths? Or am I now allowed to rob a bank, and excuse my actions by asking "Who really cares if it's illegal?"

The sad thing is that she's right, very few people would care that it's unconstitutional. Fewer could probably define what "unconstitutional" means.

"It's a loophole that allows illegal gun traffickers to simply state that a weapon was stolen," said Councilman William Peduto, one of three authors of the bill...
Those who intend to use their guns illegally may create a new loophole by simply reporting the guns stolen as soon as they acquire them.

Not to mention the surge of boating accidents we seem to have had lately.

I think it's a GREAT idea to report it missing as soon as you can't find it, especially if it's been misplaced. Don't forget to report you've found it before you head off to the range. If enough people did that a few times, they'd toss the law or they'd start telling people to NOT report them missing if they think it might be found later.

It's STUPID legislation.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Mike: Your keep forgetting that the dems do it "for the children" therefore it's good legislation.

That was my first idea too.
The problem with a law like that is that if you loose a handgun, and you *do* report it, if they loose your report you will still be in problem for not reporting it, if you cant proove it. So if I reported a gun stolen, I'd want them to issue me a copy of the report, for my legal protection.
I'm sure if everyone did the above, and wanted a receipt each time, it wont take that long until they get tired of it.
