Nickels expects December start to city gun ban
By LEVI PULKKINEN
P-I REPORTER
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels expects to introduce a city rule change in December that would ban all guns from city buildings and parks, despite objections from state officials and gun-rights advocates.
City staff released a draft of the proposed change to reporters Friday, which shows a change in line with statements Nickels made following a nonfatal shooting at the Northwest Folklife Festival in May.
The administrative change, which would not come to a City Council vote, would ban concealed weapons from city-owned property. Roads, sidewalks and most parking areas would not be included.

There needs to be some kind of repercussions for such idiots wasting taxpayer resources doing things they KNOW aren't legal or will get tossed out of court.

Well, that counts this world out where the vast majority of voters are drooling retards who are more informed about who was voted off the island last week than they are with the rule makers in their world...pathetic..

If somehow all the major television transmission facilities detonated or otherwise burned to the ground (and no one was hurt in the process), I would actually cheer and laugh while watching the drooling retards going through TV withdrawal - even if it only lasted a couple of weeks.
I'll never forget when I bought my first house. We were so tight on money we couldn't afford cable and since we were down in a valley, we couldn't get any decent broadcast reception, so we went without TV for four years. When we finally decided to get cable again (so we could watch the winter Olympics) we were astonished at how dumb everything on TV really was. The first time I saw 15 minutes of the show everyone was talking about, Friends, I couldn't handle watching any more after seeing how awful it was.
Seriously, I STRONGLY recommend disconnecting your TV for at least two weeks per year and just do without. I know families who "rediscovered" each other and became closer as a family after doing this simple exercise.
Most people are shocked when they figure out just how much that damn IDIOT box controls their lives.

I'd have to find something worth watching first.

Call me crazy but if you or I did something we knew to be illegal and still did it our a$$es would be in jail. So how is making a law/regulation/rule that you know to be against the law any different. Doesn't WA have state troopers or something that the Governor could send to arrest this guy and anyone from his staff participating in this for KNOWINGLY breaking the law of the state? If we expect our governments to be by, of and for the people we need to start demanding the arrest of government officials that knowingly break the law and then sue them them in civil court to recover all the lost legal fees defending their illegal practices.

So like Fight Club against television stupidity? I could support that. We would have to wait until after Battlestar Galactica season 4 has finished however. Aw what the hell, that's what DVD is for. When do we start?
