Yeah, that sounds about right.

Many years ago, I had a roommate in the Navy from Kenner, LA. His dad was 100% cajun and his mom was japanese. He also had a sister. A HOT sister. A couple of years after Tony (the roommate) got out of the navy, his sister decided to run off and live with a guy here in Florida. Dad did NOT approve. Tony and his dad came after her to take her back to LA. They stopped off here in Jacksonville for one night before heading out again. Tony met up with me to say hi. He told me what they were doing and that they were loaded for bear. Rifles, shotguns, pistols, etc. Wayward daughter was NOT going to say no, and the guy she was staying with would be lucky to walk away.

As Emmy Lou Harris so beautifully sang, "Have you ever seen a cajun when he really got mad?"

Yup, I have.

. Thomas succumbed to injuries he sustained during the
confrontation with Bethany Arceneaux's family members.
That is the most delicate bit of news reporting I've read in a while :-) They could have written 'left for dead'.

Yeah, if this goes to trial, I'm seeing jury nullification as the result. Assuming it even got that far.

DA: They murdered that man! Arrest them!
Sheriff: Couillon! I haven't got enough deputies for that. And half the ones I do have are kin to them some way or another.

Emmy Lou may have covered it first, but the Oak Ridge Boys took it to #1 on the Country Music Charts. :D

I'm kind of surprised they even wrote that. I'd have expected any reports to say either that he had mysteriously disappeared after the incident, or that they left him unharmed and he then decided to shoot himself, multiple times in different parts of the body.

... And then stuffed the exit wounds with cotton balls.

By the way, I haven't heard "Coonass" in about 19 years. Thanks for the laugh.
