Obama's Civilian Security Force

Post by 1991A1 »

From his half hour commercial on several TV channels:

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” he said Wednesday. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

What does he have in mind? Is this nefarious or naive?

With a 500 billion dollar defense budget right now that would mean we would be spending a trillion dollars on defense. I'm all for a strong national defense, but....

If it were anyone else suggesting it, I'd think he was talking about the militia.

His agenda is clear. He wants total control of this nation. And this new force would come in hand in the taking of people's firearms, after they were made illegal by the new law comgress passed.

The only saving grace of such an idea is that his brownshirts won't be military, and as such, the Southern and Western States will be able to have a very different attitude toward them -- aside from the fact that there would be no [strike]constitutional legitimacy[/strike] ,why bother, claiming that anymore, for such a force

During the 1989 pro-democracy demonstrations in Beijing, the local PLA and People's Armed Police units refused to wade into the crowd and start shooting. Their reason could be summed up in a song written by the Communists: "The People love the Army and the Army loves the People." They protected the people, even when the people didn't understand or respect the Army's job. That was drilled into them. The People's Armed Police had a similar mindset.

So, Hu Jintao (who at the time was mayor of Beijing, now the President of the PRC) demanded that military forces from the country provinces like Shaanxi and Gansu to come in to restore order. They were mostly conscripts from farming and mining families who didn't think that the students had any right to demonstrate, that the unions had no right to strike in support of the students and that the Beijing-area military and police units were only good for parades and getting their asses kicked. They attacked the demonstrators with no compunctions once the local armed forces had been confined to their bases.

The internal military force proposed by Obama could wind up in a similar situation. Got some pesky people demonstrating for things like overturning Roe v. Wade or demonstrating against nationalizing the oil and coal industries? Well, if the DC police won't do anything about it, get the internal security forces from Chicago or New York. They're trained to bust heads with style, and they're probably rarin' to go.

It's an extreme example, yes, but it's something I'd expect from someone whose entire childhood and college years were spent hearing that Communism and Socialism were much better than mean ol' capitalism. Look at Hugo Chavez' recent antics in trying to jail his opponents. He brings in Chavista loyalists from other parts of the country to harass anyone who dares to say that Chavez should go.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

And people scoff when I say the Police State will come from the Left, not the Right...

Historically speaking the police states always have come from the left.

Obama and Biden will create an energy-focused youth jobs program to provide disadvantaged youth with service opportunities weatherizing buildings and getting practical experience in fast-growing career fields.
Fast-growing career fields. Perhaps we are about to see tremendous growth in employment opportunity in the field of lumpenproletariat muscle.
