The Poll: Replace All of Congress Now

According to a 10/5/08 Rasmussen poll, a majority of Americans want the entirety of Congress replaced now.

With Congressional job approval ratings hovering below 18%, a staggering 59% of respondents said they would endorse vacating the entire legislative branch at once, if they could.

Less than half (49%) said that Congress is doing better than a group of people randomly selected from the phone book; and fully 1/3 (33%) of respondents said that a group randomly selected from the phone book would actually do a better job than the present Congress.

On a personal note, my father (a veteran) says the President should exercise his authority under Article II Section III of the Constitution and require Congress to convene on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. He thinks they should all recite in unison, "We tried our best to uphold the legacy you gave us." I think words are superfluous, and that mass seppuku would suffice as an apology.

I wish that was possible. But, sadly, I'm stuck with Corrine Brown who is running unopposed in a freakshow of a gerrymandered distric made especally to put her into office... and our pocketbooks.

And there's the rub- the useless scum responsible are perfectly safe in custom made districts.

I'd LOVE to give all of California's current Congresscritters the boot - it appears to be the only way we're going to get rid of shit like Feinswein, Boxturd, Waxman, and Piglosee.

I'm afraid that I don't really believe that this poll is anywhere near correct. Sure, folks might bitch, but at the end of the day they will step into that voting booth and pull the lever for the same ass clowns that have done such a bang-up job for the last forever. I mean, we are 4 weeks from election day and I promise you that there will be less than a 5% turnover rate in the congress. The same scoundrels will be reelected to keep doing the same vile shit that they have been getting away with for years. Everybody has already forgotten Pelosi's pledge to head up the most ethical congress ever...she was going to reach across the aisle and work with the (evil) republicans in a bipartisan fashion that heretofore has been unknown is Washington. Well, most of us knew it was bullshit the moment it left her mouth, but few of us will hold her to account for it. We have a prime opprotunity to clean house in a month and the American people will fail...mark my words.

Surely not every Congressional weasel needs to go.

Just most of them.

For example: each and every one that voted for the bailout.

Prehaps not. However, like cancer, it is best to remove a good portion of the surrounding tissue and not just the tumor...just to make sure you got all the bad stuff. Sure, there are some decent guys in congress, but it would be worth it to send them on their way to make sure we got all the bad ones out...start over as it were. Not that it will ever happen though...it's little more than wishful thinking.

I WISH the rest of the state, much less the country, could hold the Speaker accountable. Unfortunately, she's only accountable to her district - who keep or fire her at their insistence (another bunch of asshats from the San Fransicko bay area).

Ours is retiring after 14 years. He doesn't much like the guy who is succeeding him as the Republican nominee, but the new guy seems pretty decent. He also has introduced or co-sponsored CCW laws for Illinois since he's been in. I think he might be a hair shy of 30, too.

I'll keep my Congresspeople, thanks, but I have a list of those who need to GO. List includes anyone with the last name of Kennedy, Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, Rangel, Frank.....

Fire them all.

Starting with McVain and Obama since they don't show up anyway.
