Probably not. I doubt OJ sees a day in a real prison. There will be appeals, there will be bail, there will be some special treatment if only to reduce the difficulties the corrections department will have with him.

By the way, whether OJ did it or not the first time around (he probably did, but no real honest investigation was ever conducted) the VERDICT was entirely correct based on the case as it was presented.

i dont know... the guy that was with him might have grounds for an appeal based on his being tainted by being next to OJ on the stand... but i just dont know if OJ will get out of this one...

as for special treatment, yup he will get the same treatment that ex-cops get... a private cell in a special wing of the prison... every state has methods for holding high profile inmates and do so regularly without problem...

as for bail... i cannot see that being granted unless an appeals judge finds that there was a mistrial... he was remanded into custody with bail denied tonight so i cannot see that getting reversed before the sentencing which will be the next time he sees the judge most likely.

in short, i wouldnt schedule any tee times this decade if i were OJ...

The judge denied bail and she refused to give the lawyers extended time to file a motion for new trial, which under Nevada law must be filed within seven days.

I respectfully disagree. The defendant's only legal strategy was jury nullification. It worked, despite overwhelming evidence of every kind that proved beyond any shadow of doubt (reasonable or otherwise) that O.J. Simpson was guilty of 1st degree murder on two counts with special circumstance of lying in wait. For many reasons (the jury's sheer lack of cognitive ability, their racist mentality, and their fear of causing another city-wide race riot), the jury decided to ignore the staggering weight of evidence and allow a man to go free after using a knife to nearly sever his wife's head from her neck.

You can make anything about race. Why bother. He was not on trial because he is black and I am not broke because I am white.

Moose, I do hope you're delivering hyperbole. Mekender got what I meant. We can't have a discussion about race in this country without it devolving into a "you're a racist" and "you're a nazi" shouting match.
