McCain Suspends Campaign; Good/Bad Move?
You've doubtless heard that McCain announced he's suspending his presidential campaign for the time being, to focus on the financial crisis. Overt political move? Of course. Good move, bad move??? Is he playing chess, staying a move or three ahead of Obama?

a lot will disagree with me, but i think that he really feels that he belongs in the senate fixing this problem and that his campaign would only detract from a very serious situation...
im pretty sure that his politics are secondary in this action

I think it was a good move on his part, because he just stepped inside of Obama's swing, and left Obama stuttering. Apparently Obama was still planning on a debate even without McCain, but I could be a little out of date.
If Obama decides to go to the Senate, it will just look like he's aping John McCain.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Definite overt political move. By his own admission he knows virtually nothing about the economy and he has missed lots of important votes since he began running.
Having said that though, it was a very smart move. Particularly the timing. He seized the moment to look like he was putting the country first (presidential?) before Obambi could figure out that it was a good move. Now regardless of what Obambi does McClown looks better. If Obambi goes ahead with his campaign he will look like he is shirking his responsibility as a senator and putting his own future ahead of the country. If he too suspends his campaign he will be seen as a follower...that he followed McClown's lead rather than be publically shamed. If Obambi had taken the initiative and made the move first the media would have fallen all over themselves to sing his hosannas...he would have pratically sewn up the election with that one simple move - and he blinked. As much as I despise McClown, I think the move was genius. Not only did he appear to be putting the country first he did it by taking his opposition with him as both demoncrat candidates are members of the senate while his VP candidate is still free to go about her business. Freakin' Genius!

The dhimmicraptic butt-suckers over at CNN are saying it makes McClown appear "erratic" - they just can't accept the fact the shrewd move was made by the Republican candidate and not their messiah.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

It would appear that David (I was funny a long time ago) Letterman is really butt hurt that McClown cancelled his show at the same time he suspended his campaign.
Honestly I don't know why republicans even agre to go on his show. He hates republicans. He is another American bashing socialist trying to cloak his disdain in humor...hey, I'm a funny man, where's your sense of humor, can't ya take a joke. Sort of along the lines of Blame America First Rosie. And just as (not) funny. Frankly I think repubicans show just refuse to do some of these shows the hosts are able to be a little more even keeled. Let these schmucks get their ratings on somebody else's back.

Well he did come put on a show on Christmas in Kuwait back in '04. On Christmas Eve he was in Baghdad, IIRC. I don't what his stances are(I never watch late night shows anymore), but he doesn't seem to be anti-American.The Quiet Man wrote:It would appear that David (I was funny a long time ago) Letterman is really butt hurt that McClown cancelled his show at the same time he suspended his campaign.

I think it was a good move. And really, it's a win-win all the way around: Obama stays out of the Senate and we have another Republicanish vote.
Actually, participating in the Senate has never been Obama's strong suit. He only ever votes "present" anyway.

Letterman's politics took a sharp right turn after 9/11. I think he opened up with both barrels on McCain because his personality says, "No one cancels on me."
Oh, and on-point: McCain just stepped on his dick. That's my impression.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.
