"Indications" are that there is a split on the Democrat side. Some of the PUMAs are going for the McCain/Palin ticket as much for revenge as anything, Palin just helps make it a more justifiable move . The rest, especially the Obama supporters, are already in attack mode on Palin.
It seems a number of the women "swing voters" who trend Democratic are swinging toward Palin.
