NJ - Wall Township Seeking to Dissolve NJ's Hunting Heritage

Post by 308Mike »

From NRA-ILA:
Wall Township Seeking to Dissolve New Jersey’s Hunting Heritage

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Please Attend the Township Committee Hearing on Wednesday, September 10!

In an attempt to further erode New Jersey’s rich hunting heritage, the Wall Township Committee passed on first reading an ordinance that will prohibit a person from having a loaded firearm or nocked arrow while within 650 feet of any building, school playground or municipal park. Current New Jersey statues set the limit at 450 feet. This 200-foot increase will dramatically impact your access to hunting and will encourage further restrictions in the future.

On Wednesday, September 10 the ordinance will be considered for final passage. Please attend the Wall Township hearing and voice your opposition to this unnecessary and restrictive regulation. The hearing will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Wall Township Municipal Building located at 2700 Allaire Road. If you are unable to attend, please call the Township Committee at (732) 449-8444 and respectfully urge the Committee to oppose this ordinance.

NJ is a lost cause, they should just join CA and fall off the map... who would have ever thought that my 60 year old sears .22 would be considered an illegal assault weapon in NJ?

It's all retoric - Wall Township is a "shore" community(right next to Belmar, actually), and if there's any hunting being done there, I'll eat my hat.

Actually, there is quite a bit of open space in Wall. And it's a huge town (31 sq/mi) compared the surrounding towns that are actually on the ocean.

Part of Allaire State Park (where hunting is allowed) is in Wall.
