Funny, I was thinking this exact thing today... Could we all jump on the Libertarian bandwagon, and make it a small "L" party? We need a platform, and the guys who think owning nukes and anthrax have to be sidelined if America is EVER to take the party seriously...

The big-L libertarians can't be taken seriously, for a lot of reasons, not least of which
is that they actually had a country, but let it slip from their grasp.

The Republic of Minerva was on its way, but the big dummies forgot the first rule
of sovereignty: arms. The Kindom of Tonga -- not even a banana republic -- sent a
gunboat (probably a trawler with a .30 cal mg) and conquered them without firing a
shot.

What a disgrace. Too dumb to graduate kindergarten.

I respect (ug) McCain for that at least. I would like to see more reports of the misbehaviors of Obama's supporters, as I have witnessed several in person already, of a much worse nature.
Hell, his campaign gave money to frikkin ACORN and he said he wants them to influence his policies.

I applaud the thought, (and the principle) but I don't think it would work. The two major parties, the Media and The Moneyed Interests would never let it happen. IMHO, it would be impossible to peel off enough GOP/DIM supporters and Independents to mount an effective assault in the two-party system that is now firmly in place. At best, the result would be another "Perot effect", which wound up giving the more evil of the two major party candidates the election win.

A two-party system like we have is almost impossible to break. The reason is
simple: no matter the issue, it will always be stolen from the third party as soon
as it gains traction. That totally steals the thunder from the third party. They
have nothing to sell, or no exclusive, anyway. One of the existing parties could
morph over time into something completely different, but no third party is going
to displace one of them.

The only thing that could possibly cause a party to fall is for it to be found out as
a party of crooks and traitors. We already know that even that isn't enough.

See, I think the GOP is currently doing similar things that the Whigs did at the end of their life -- sacrificing all principles, getting very corrupt, etc. I doubt the US will ever end up like Europe, w. many parties, but the GOP cannot survive in it's current incarnation.

The king of Tonga thought it was worth having.

It was a spot of land in the south pacific. They didn't go there for prime
farmland, but to get a patch of ground so they could found a country.
Maybe they wanted a demonstration project, or just a place they could
run on their own principles. Either way, that kind of naive cluelessness
is inexcusable. It revealed a staggering lack of understanding of the way
the world works. Not exactly good PR if you want people elsewhere to trust
your party to run their country.

A BIG part of the reason is due to foreign money influence by people like George Soros trying to manipulate our election process, and him and his rich buddies are spreading HUGE amounts of money around setting up and funding organizations to keep people at it, stirring up the hate and discontent.

The latest American Rifleman has a good article on it.
