commodity backed US certificates ?

Post by toad »

The Gov used to issue silver certificates , they had plenty of silver back then. Now I think they should look into new commodities , things they have a lot of.
Cheese certificates , for 5 bucks you could get wheel of cheese.
Ammo certificates , a selection of ammo they no longer issue , I'm sure they have some .30-06 in a warehouse somewhere.
Arms certificates, old AR-15 and M-16 20 inch barreled , 20 bucks and you can get one.
Vehicle certificates, dinged up old Hummers , etc.
Can you guys think of some others ?

Yeah if and when I decide to build a bigger sailboat, I will probably regret not buying a pallet of ballast when the prices were lower.
